Project brief

A solution tailored to the facility, housing technology and future installation.

Request – to manufacture a reliable, ergonomic, and durable steel canopy structure for a large-scale EV charging station.

Solution – a modular steel canopy featuring enhanced anti-corrosion protection.

The rapid growth of the electric vehicle market requires highly reliable and long-lasting infrastructure. A canopy is a crucial element of any charging station, safeguarding expensive charging equipment and vehicles from precipitation, heavy snow loads, and UV radiation. To ensure maximum service life and driver convenience, UFSP delivered a solution based on a robust steel framework with optimal column spacing that accommodates the dimensions of modern vehicles. Choosing this technology guarantees structural stability under any weather conditions.

Key zones and technical solutions

The template is designed for a structured presentation of the task, the structural solution and the technical standards of each individual project.

Driver ergonomics and comfort

The canopy dimensions are meticulously engineered with the users' needs in mind. A clearance height of over 3.3 meters allows even larger vehicles to enter safely. The well-thought-out column spacing of 2 750 mm ensures drivers have ample space for comfortable maneuvering, easy parking, and unhindered door opening while charging.

Fast, weld-free installation

All framework components are manufactured at our facility with high geometric precision and delivered to the site fully ready for insallation. The pre-drilled bolt holes allow the structure to be erected directly on-site quickly and without any welding, significantly accelerating the final launch of the charging station.

Green Tech philosophy and sustainability

This project fully aligns with the values of sustainable development and eco-friendly transportation. Both the steel framework and the zinc coating are 100% environmentally friendly materials that are fully recyclable. The manufacturing and installation processes leave a minimal ecological footprint.

Uncompromising corrosion protection

Utilizing hot-dip galvanizing technology with an average coating thickness of 80 μm provides the steel with superior dual protection (both barrier and cathodic). This completely eliminates the need for regular maintenance, rust cleaning, or repainting throughout decades of outdoor operation.
