Project brief

A solution tailored to the facility, housing technology and future installation.

Turnkey Technological Design for a New Livestock Complex Based on the customer's technical documentation, the UFSP team developed a custom fit-out project for three autonomous buildings within the livestock complex. Our goal was to create an ergonomic space fully adapted to the specific cattle housing technology. Each building was divided into 3–4 functional sectors, including housing, feeding, collection, and handling areas. Transition zones were meticulously designed to ensure seamless livestock movement and ease of operation for the staff. We took all architectural features of the buildings into account to propose the optimal equipment layout.

Key zones and technical solutions

The template is designed for a structured presentation of the task, the structural solution and the technical standards of each individual project.

Stalls

Resting area

Proper organization of the resting area is the foundation of cattle health and productivity. For this project, we selected solutions that provide animals with unobstructed space for both rising and resting.

  • Type of dividers: ‘Comfort’ with a free front outlet
  • Dimensions: length L=1700mm, L=1800mm, L=2000mm, L=2150mm
  • Construction: ergonomically bent tubes featuring weld-free surfaces in contact zones for maximum animal safety and comfort.
  • Installation: Reinforced support posts (76mm diameter and 3.5mm thickness) equipped with plastic caps and heat-shrink tubing

Feeding table

The feeding table was adapted to the customer’s unique barn layout.

  • Solution: self-locking "Headlock" feed fences (550 mm per head) – L2000 mm, L3000 mm, L3700 mm
  • Features: ensures individual feed access for each animal and maintains a standing position post-milking
  • Result: less animal competition, enhanced livestock welfare, and improved personnel safety

Fencing system

To ensure reliable separation of technological zones, we implemented a reinforced fencing system that combines high durability with ease of daily operation for the staff.

  • 700 mm Telescopic gates: a versatile design featuring precision length adjustment
  • Adaptability: a variety of gate sizes allows for the covering of passages of any width, perfectly conforming to the specific installation site
  • Result: sliding mechanisms enable staff to manage animal groups with ease, while the reinforced profile guarantees a long service life even under intensive workloads

Transition and handling zones

For this zone, we implemented a system of adaptive barriers that ensures free maneuvering within the space and allows for rapid layout reconfiguration.

  • Installation of "Comfort" type stall dividers, L2000 mm
  • Implementation of adjustable pipes with 48 mm and 60 mm diameters
  • Specialized palpation rails and arches for veterinary examinations and zootechnical procedures

Technical standards and corrosion protection

Special emphasis is placed on equipment durability under conditions of high humidity, heavy mechanical loads, and ammonia fumes.

  • Material: S235JR grade steel with enhanced resistance to mechanical deformation
  • Protective coating: full immersion hot-dip galvanizing according to ISO 1461
  • Average zinc coating Thickness: 55 µm
  • Hardware: Heavy-duty fasteners and 10 mm thick-walled clamps
